March Event - Scenic Drive To Pine, AZ

E-mail Print PDF
To compliment last months turnout, we plan on going NE instead of NW this time towards Pine Arizona. This drive will be much more scenic and have more of a forest feel to it. On the way back after lunch we will be stopping off at the Natural Bridge, Cost is $5 per car to park and enter the bridge however this place offers a wonderful spot to take pictures and hang out for a bit.

Tonto National Bridge Details:
Tucked away in a tiny valley surrounded by a forest of pine trees, Tonto Natural Bridge State Park has been in the making for thousands of years. It is believed to be the largest natural travertine bridge in the world. The bridge stands 183 feet high over a 400-foot long tunnel that measures 150 feet at its widest point. The discovery of the small and beautiful valley between Pine and Payson was documented in 1877 by David Gowan, a prospector who stumbled across the bridge as he was chased by Apaches. Gowan hid for two nights and three days in one of several caves that dot the inside of the bridge. On the third day, he left the cave to explore the tunnel and green valley surrounding it. Gowan then claimed squatter's rights. In 1898 he persuaded his nephew, David Gowan Goodfellow, to bring his family over from Scotland and settle the land permanently. After a week of difficult travel from Flagstaff, the Goodfellows arrived at the edge of the mountain and lowered their possessions down the 500 foot slopes into the valley by ropes and burros. Today, visitors can stand on top of the bridge or hike down below to capture the true size and beauty of this geologic wonder.

Tyler C. Of AZSupras Runs At Speedworld

E-mail Print PDF

Tyler and myself went to speedworld on Saturday Feb 7th, 2009 to test his car out. After trailering the supra to the track and offloading it, changing the plugs and getting everything runing properly he decided to hit the track. First off let me say, Speedworld's track is far superior to Firebirds. So anyone wanting to run at a decent track I certainly would pick Speedworld over Firebird.

With that said, Tyler ran an 11.9 1/4 mile @ 14lbs of boost, letting off in 3rd gear at about half track. Saad Saad showed up for the day as well with his MKIV Supra and ran a consistent 8.7/8.9 the entire day. Due to ignition issues, Tyler was unable to run his car at full boost. But that didn't stop him from representing the AZSupras. Overall it was a good day for AZSupras and Tyler C. mostly just a chance for everyone to hang out and take pictures. I can't wait to get everyone together for the 21st of February for the Jerome Scenic Drive!

Here are some pictures from the event and drive of the supra's, and tow rigs!

AZSupraCentral Garage Feature Added!

E-mail Print PDF

Well as promised, I have rolled out the "Garage" feature on the forums. This allows any Registered member the ability to add "Items" aka cars to your AZSupras Garage. You can also add Modifications and pictures to your items and type up descriptions etc for them.

This reflects a lot like a stripped down version of CarDomain.

You can get to the Garage by clicking "Garage" on the top nav bar of the forums, or by visiting this link:
http://azsupracentral.com/forums/index.php...utocom=registry

If you have any questions about adding your car or mods PM an admin
