Been wanting to pick one up for a while and today I finally found one that seems to fit. Picked up Johns White NA 87 MK3 Supra today and so I just wanted to do the intro and all that. Im Gabe. I'm a college kid, and thanks to my friend Joey and his FD I'm addicted to boost. Sometime during the summer I am planning on doing a NA-T conversion or a 7mgte or a 1jz swap. I look foreword to learning all I can about these cars and participating in events and everything that goes along with being a Supra Lover. Including being broke. :P

So my Supra needs a bit of a tune up and could use the opprotunity to be looked over by someone with more knowledge then myself.. Anyone know o a decent shop? I know UMS does god work but its so expensive. Dont get me wrong Im willing to spend whatever it takes to get this thing running like a top but i dont want to shell out like 400 buck to change my oil and spark plugs. :P

Tune up is easy, plugs, plug wires, oil change, filter change, air filter, shouldn't take more then two hours. Nothing like learning by experience.

Yeah well the guy before me installed a K&N cold air intake and i just cleaned and recharged the filter today. Te car seems to have a bit of an attitude problem so I checked a few things out.. I opened up the distributer cap to find oil residue? But i cleaned it all out and cleaned the terminals. Everything you mentioned is on my checklist for monday but my RX7 buddy talked me into going down to UMS to have it looked at anyways.. I swear he has it out for me. Wants to see me go broke. :P

You're N/a right? I wouldn't even waste the money taking it to UMS. Their are plenty of local guys who can look it over for you.

Go JZ series... 7M is a good motor to learn on but to each his own.

I have a suggestion: for every dollar you spend on fixing up your n/a, put aside 3. Then in about a year or so when you finally get sick of seeing taillights, put that 3-4k into a JZ swap.

Another suggestion: get a daily driver. ;)
